REuse Economy Expo highlights growing role of Digital Product Passports in Europe’s circular transition

REuse Economy Expo brought together key circular economy leaders, policymakers and technology innovators in Paris this week, underlining the growing strategic importance of reuse systems, Digital Product Passports and industrial circularity across Europe.

Held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the event showcased over 500 operational solutions and featured 80 conferences and masterclasses with more than 300 French and international speakers.

The presence of French President Emmanuel Macron during the exhibition further reflected how rapidly circular economy topics are moving into broader political, industrial and economic agendas.

The event gathered major figures from across the European reuse and sustainability ecosystem, including former French ministers Agnès Pannier-Runacher and Barbara Pompili, TerraCycle CEO Tom Szaky, Reloop Platform founder Clarissa Morawski, Back Market France Managing Director Charlotte Souleau and representatives from the European Investment Bank (EIB), Deloitte and NielsenIQ.

Among the discussions attracting strong industry attention was the CIRPASS-2 - Digital Product Passport panel: “From Regulatory Compliance to Market Transformation: Perspectives from Key Stakeholders.”

CIRPASS-2 focuses on demonstrating Digital Product Passports (DPPs) in real industrial settings across textiles, electronics, tyres and construction value chains. The EU-funded initiative aims to move DPPs beyond compliance toward operational circular business models and interoperable industrial deployment.

Marion Rouzeaud, sustainability leader and founder of DiPPa, participated in the panel on behalf of CIRPASS-2 alongside experts from ecosystem, Wuppertal Institute and msg group, discussing transparency, governance, competitiveness and the future role of DPPs within circular economy systems.

During the event, Rouzeaud also presented her newly released book, “DiPPa: Rethinking the Way We Buy Things with Digital Product Passports,” offering industry stakeholders a structured perspective on one of the fastest-evolving and increasingly complex areas of European sustainability and product regulation.

As discussions around DPPs accelerate under upcoming EU sustainability legislation, REuse Economy Expo reflected a broader industry shift from pilot projects toward industrial-scale implementation and market transformation.
