RESYCURE GmbH launches digital traceability solution to improve PCR quality and scale circular packaging

As recycled content adoption grows, one of the biggest challenges for the packaging industry remains consistent quality, transparency and traceability across complex value chains.

RESYCURE GmbH has developed a digital solution designed to bring batch-level data together across the recycled plastics supply chain — from pellets and preforms to finished bottles.

The technology addresses key challenges that companies face when scaling post-consumer recycled (PCR) content:

• batch-to-batch variability;

• differences in visual appearance and colour consistency;

• fragmented data across multiple organisations;

• slow and manual traceability processes.

The solution is being applied in collaboration with Kenvue, the company behind brands including Listerine and other household products, to support the integration of more high-performing PCR materials into its packaging portfolio.

According to the companies, the platform now monitors more than 100 PCR batches per quarter and has helped reduce investigation times by approximately 35% on average.

♻️ The project highlights the growing role of digitalisation in the circular economy. As demand for recycled materials increases, digital traceability is becoming a key tool for improving quality control, supply chain transparency and confidence in secondary raw materials.

By connecting data across the value chain, solutions like this could help accelerate the transition towards higher recycled content and more circular packaging systems.
