Tosca has showcased its euro-size Circular Pallet (CP1208), developed with Cabka, at Fruit Attraction in Madrid. Made from 100% recycled plastic, the pallet is designed for reusable transport packaging, automated handling systems and fresh produce supply chains.

Design and technical features

The pallet measures 1,200 × 800 mm, allowing integration with euro-size pallet handling equipment, subject to individual installation requirements. Rounded skid edges are designed to minimise damage during forklift handling.

Integrated deck grooves secure Tosca’s reusable plastic crates without strapping, supporting stable double-stacked transport. RFID integration enables asset tracking and inventory management across the supply chain.

The pallet has a non-porous, splinter-free construction with integrated drainage holes to prevent water accumulation. Its design also incorporates top-deck handles, anti-slip features and a stable structure intended to improve handling safety.

Weighing more than 4 kg less than traditional wooden pallets, the unit is designed to reduce lifting effort during routine warehouse and distribution operations.

Reuse, repair and recycling

The CP1208 is designed to be repaired and reused before being recycled at the end of its service life. The pooling model allows reusable transport assets to be managed across supply chains, while repairability can help extend their operational life.

Tosca said the pallet was developed with the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) transition in mind. Unlike wooden pallets that may require ISPM 15 heat treatment or fumigation for international shipments, plastic pallets can offer an alternative for relevant logistics applications, depending on destination and shipment requirements.
