Cross Wrap Supplies Bale Dewiring System for Circulose Textile Recycling Plant in Sweden

Cross Wrap is supplying an automated bale infeeding and dewiring system for Circulose’s textile recycling plant in Ortviken, Sundsvall, Sweden, ahead of the planned Q4 2026 restart of commercial production .

The system combines a Cross Wrap Dewiring Machine with a customised conveyor line to feed recycled textile bales into shredding and subsequent processing stages.

⚙️ Removing metal wires before shredding helps prevent equipment damage, reduce maintenance requirements and improve operational safety. Automated feeding also supports a more consistent material flow at the start of the recycling line.

“The dewiring solution improves efficiency and makes the start of the process safer,” said Henrik Dahlbom, Project & Maintenance Manager at Circulose.

🌍 The Ortviken plant is designed to produce CIRCULOSE®, a dissolving pulp made from discarded cotton textiles for use in the textile and fashion supply chain. The project illustrates how automated material handling can support the industrial processing of textile waste into secondary raw materials.
