Van Dyk to Build $30M Recycling Facility for JLT in Maryland
🇺🇸 US recycling systems supplier VAN DYK Recycling Solutions has been selected by JLT Recycling Inc. (JLT Trucking) to design and build a new 50,000-square-foot materials recovery facility (MRF) in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
The project is part of JLT’s expansion programme, backed by a $75 million syndicated financing facility. The facility will be developed on a seven-acre site and designed to process commercial single-stream recyclables at rates of up to 25 tonnes per hour. Its sorting line will combine advanced screening, optical sorting, magnetic separation and eddy-current technology, followed by automated baling.
The wider facility is being designed to accommodate incoming material at rates of up to 50 tonnes per hour, allowing capacity for future growth. The system will process recyclables collected through the operations of JLT Trucking, providing a local outlet for materials handled across the Washington region.
The project is expected to reduce transportation requirements, increase the recovery of marketable recyclable materials and strengthen the region’s processing infrastructure.
According to the project announcement, planning, engineering and site development will continue through 2027, with construction expected to begin in early 2028.
