PICVISA Integrates Optical Sorting and Robotics for Fully Automated Textile Recycling

PICVISA will present an integrated textile sorting system combining its ECOSORT optical sorter with Girbau’s Sortech automated feeding and separation technology at ECOMONDO 2026 in Rimini, Italy. The system processes post-consumer textiles from input to sorted fractions without manual pre-sorting and is already operating at a newly commissioned plant in Northern Europe. The company will also showcase a redesigned six-axis ECOPICK robotic picking system.

More Precise Fibre Classification

PICVISA’s EcoExpert platform can identify an expanding number of fibre classes and distinguish knitted from woven fabrics, helping produce cleaner fractions for mechanical and chemical recycling.

Redesigned ECOPICK Robot

The updated picking system now offers a six-axis robot configuration, with extended reach, improved approach angles and a payload of up to 8 kg per pick. The redesign also simplifies the addition of a second robot and improves maintenance access.

🇮🇹 Growing Italian Market

Italy is PICVISA’s fastest-growing textile market. One ECOSORT installation is already operating at Esposito Rewear, while two further projects are being installed: a turnkey plant for A2A and a Dr Tex line integrating ECOSORT with Girbau’s robotic feeding system.

Regulator-Cetrisa: Metal Separation and Photovoltaic Recycling

Regulator-Cetrisa, a manufacturer of magnetic and metal separation equipment with over 40 years of experience, will join PICVISA at the stand. Its technology is already operating in a plant processing end-of-life photovoltaic panels. By combining metal separation with PICVISA’s AI-based optical sorting, the two companies cover a range of recycling applications, from textiles to photovoltaic waste.

📍 Meet PICVISA and Regulator-Cetrisa at Ecomondo 2026, 3–6 November, Rimini Expo Centre, Hall A3, Stand 506.
