PICVISA Unveils Metals Vertical and Next-Gen AI Sorting Innovations at IFAT 2026
Black plastics sorting breakthrough
PICVISA introduces a new approach combining MWIR hyperspectral imaging, AI, and sensor fusion to accurately classify black plastics—traditionally undetectable by NIR systems. The solution also integrates X-ray fluorescence to detect brominated flame retardants, supporting WEEE compliance.
ECOGLASS: higher purity, lower energy
A new pulsed lighting system reduces energy consumption by up to 40% while improving detection of ceramics, stones, porcelain, and dark glass fractions.
Industrial-scale textile sorting
In collaboration with Girbau, PICVISA has deployed a fully automated post-consumer textile sorting line in Northern Europe. Its ECOSORT technology now operates across 10 installations in Europe.
Launch of metals vertical
The new division integrates three core technologies:
Optical sorting for non-ferrous metals via Eldan Recycling
Magnetic and eddy-current separation via Regulator Cetrisa
Real-time alloy identification using LIBS technology via Austin AI
Immersive plant experience
Visitors can explore real installations through “Sort & See” 360° technology, including projects like Revimon (glass), Ca Na Putxa (plastic), and Sposito Reware (textiles).
