Matthiessen Bag Splitter in Kazakhstan’s New 150,000 t/y Sorting Facility

A new waste sorting complex with a capacity of 150,000 tonnes per year has opened in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan .

The project, with a total investment of around €7.6 million, was implemented with financial support from Zhasyl Damu JSC and the Industrial Development Fund.

The facility is designed to recover secondary raw materials from incoming municipal solid waste for further recycling, while reducing the volume of waste sent to landfill.

Matthiessen Bag Splitters are part of this new facility. This is not the company’s first equipment delivery to Kazakhstan, and Matthiessen values the trust placed in its technology and experience.

Preparing material for efficient sorting

The efficiency of sorting, recovery of secondary raw materials and downstream recycling depends not only on the sorting technology itself, but also on how the material is prepared and fed at the very beginning of the process.
