TOMRA Recycling opens new Americas Test & Training Center
The facility features a fully equipped testing circuit with the latest sorting technologies, a dedicated warehouse for critical spare parts, and expanded training capabilities.
“The expansion of our testing, training and warehouse space reflects our commitment to growing markets and getting closer to our customers,” said Lars Undrum Enge, EVP and Head of TOMRA Recycling. “From pre-sale consultation to after-sales support, we partner with customers throughout the full equipment lifecycle.”
Latest technologies
The 425 m² center includes the latest generation AUTOSORT™ powered by AI-based GAINnext™, enabling precise identification of complex materials across waste streams. For plastic flake applications, the facility features AUTOSORT™ FLAKE and INNOSORT™ FLAKE, delivering high-purity outputs through advanced NIR spectroscopy and imaging technologies.
The testing line also integrates the Waste Analyzer from PolyPerception, providing real-time data on throughput, composition, and yield loss using AI-powered monitoring.
Expanded training and global reach
The new center enhances TOMRA’s ability to deliver hands-on training for both customers and service technicians. New programs include Operational Maintenance Training and Maximizing Performance Training, covering everything from system operation to advanced optimization.
As part of TOMRA’s global network of test centers across Europe and Asia, the Charlotte facility ensures that recyclers in the Americas gain direct access to the same level of innovation, expertise, and performance optimization tools.
The new center reinforces TOMRA’s commitment to helping recyclers improve throughput, purity, and profitability through tailored, data-driven solutions.
