Stellantis and leading metals recycler Galloo today announced they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enter exclusive talks to create a joint venture focused on parts and material recycling from end-of-life vehicles.

Representing an investment of $40 million, this plant will recycle 9,000 tons of post-consumer and post-industrial polystyrene waste annually, with a high degree of contamination. This amount is equivalent to 15% of the polystyrene buried in Quebec each year.
The European Commission (EC) says the new rules will make phones and tablets more durable, energy efficient and easier to repair. The products placed on the EU market will also be required to display a repairability score for the first time.
A scientific study conducted by Chaire CoPack, in partnership with AgroParisTech and the University of Montpellier, has provided confirmation that certified compostable food contact packaging does indeed biodegrade in industrial composting facilities.
