Lindner & P&G Unveil Flexloop – A Breakthrough in Mechanical Recycling
A new era for mechanical recycling has begun. At K 2025, Lindner, in collaboration with Procter & Gamble, introduced Flexloop — a revolutionary solvent-based extraction technology that removes NIAS, odours, adhesives, and inks from polymer chains, delivering recyclate pure enough for sensitive packaging applications, such as cosmetics and personal care.
Unlike chemical recycling, Flexloop enhances traditional mechanical recycling with an additional solvent-cleaning step — enabling recyclers to achieve higher-quality outputs while keeping costs and energy use low. The modular system integrates seamlessly into existing Lindner washing and recycling lines, giving recyclers the opportunity to upgrade existing infrastructure and unlock new markets.
“Flexloop gives recyclers a valuable tool to produce high-quality recyclates for sophisticated applications,” said Michael Lackner, Managing Director, Lindner Group. “It’s a logical and necessary evolution of mechanical recycling.”
With this partnership, Lindner and P&G take a major step toward true circularity for flexible plastics, creating a scalable, industrially viable solution to one of the industry’s biggest challenges — contamination in post-consumer waste.
