LIFE Projects Showcase Circular Economy Solutions at Paris’ Reuse Economy Expo

Six EU-funded LIFE projects joined over 170 exhibitors at the REuse Economy Expo in Paris on 17 June 2025, presenting scalable innovations that transform difficult-to-recycle waste into valuable new materials.
Highlights include:
LIFE RE-SHOES (Italy): Converts old shoes and leather scraps into liquid tannins and reuses rubber offcuts — addressing the 24+ billion pairs discarded annually.
RE-PLAN CITY LIFE & LIFE InReGEO: Reimagine tyre waste reuse — for infrastructure, sports surfaces, and even mining tyres using water jet tech.
LIFE Waste2Build (France): Uses construction waste from Toulouse for new building and landscaping materials.
LIFE RE-ZIP (Denmark): Pilots reusable e-commerce packaging across France, Belgium, and Germany — recently awarded “Rising Star” at LIFE Awards 2025.
LIFE IP CEI‑Greece: Builds municipal systems for circular waste flows and introduces “Pay As You Throw” incentives.
These projects showcase how the EU’s Circular Economy Action Plan is shaping real-world impact — moving reuse and recycling from idea to infrastructure. A powerful reminder that circularity is not just a vision — it’s happening.
