STADLER Delivers Austria’s Most Advanced Lightweight Packaging Sorting Plant for PreZero
STADLER has officially completed and commissioned a groundbreaking automated recycling facility in Sollenau, built for PreZero Austria. Representing the largest and most complex project in STADLER’s history, the plant sets a new benchmark for automation, safety, and circular economy performance.
Capacity: 104,500 tonnes per year across two modules
35 STEINERT NIR sorters for maximum precision and recovery
Integrated AI-based BatterySort system for fire safety & hazardous material removal
Redundant sorting lines + automated baler control = 24/7 operation with minimal downtime
Tailored design to cut transport routes, emissions, and strengthen Austria’s recycling infrastructure
Julia Stadler, Co-CEO of STADLER: “By integrating advanced automation, flow sensors and patented screening solutions, we’ve built a system that dynamically adapts to waste streams while maintaining consistent high-quality sorting.”
For PreZero, this project is a strategic step in regional sustainability, ensuring higher recycling rates, greater efficiency, and a safer, more reliable system for the future of waste management.
