New Framework Aims to Turn Digital Product Passport Data into Action

As Digital Product Passports (DPPs) move closer to implementation across Europe, attention is increasingly shifting from data collection to data utilisation.

DiPPa™ has introduced a new decision-making framework designed to help organisations interpret and apply information contained in Digital Product Passports. The framework is built on a simple premise: data alone does not create change.

While DPPs provide access to product information, the DiPPa™ Framework focuses on helping users understand, evaluate, and act on that information through a structured decision-making process.

The framework consists of three practical canvases:

🔹 Illumination (Why) – understanding the purpose and context of information

🔹 Measurement (How) – evaluating and selecting relevant data

🔹 Adaptation (What) – translating insights into practical actions

According to its developers, the framework is intended for individual use, team collaboration, and company workshops, providing a structured approach to turning product data into business decisions.

As Digital Product Passports become a key element of Europe's circular economy strategy, tools that help organisations transform information into action may become increasingly important for manufacturers, brands, recyclers, and supply-chain stakeholders.
