Heket Packaging introduces Pneumatic Return System for circular packaging collection
Heket Packaging has introduced the Pneumatic Return System (PRS), a patented infrastructure that automates return of reusable and recyclable packaging by identifying containers and moving them via controlled airflow into storage, offering a cost- and space-efficient alternative to reverse vending machines.
The patent has been granted in Italy, with international protection expanding across Europe and the United States.
⚙️ PRS was developed to address high costs, maintenance needs and space limitations of conventional reverse vending systems. Unlike conveyor-based solutions, PRS uses airflow, eliminating mechanical transport components and reducing maintenance and production costs.
The system enables vertical transport of containers, increasing storage capacity while minimising footprint. Containers can also be sent to a remote collection area, fully separating return points from storage. It supports a wide range of formats, from reusable cups at events to PET bottles and aluminium cans in Deposit Return Systems.
Designed for deployment in retail, transport hubs, events and public spaces , PRS operates below 50 dB and is currently being piloted for reusable cup collection, with further pilots and licensing opportunities underway.
