Dennis Eagle has unveiled its new CrewSense AI system at RWM Expo 2026 in Birmingham, using cameras and artificial intelligence to monitor crew activity in the working zone at the rear of refuse collection vehicles.

The system detects operators working at the rear of the vehicle and identifies non-standard operating actions in real time. It is designed to improve situational awareness, support safer working behaviour, reduce near-miss incidents and help minimise vehicle downtime.

AI-powered crew monitoring

CrewSense AI is fully integrated with the Olympus body range and is currently available across Terberg OmniDEL and OmniDEKA bin lifts.

For fleet operators, data captured by CrewSense AI can be accessed through Terberg Connect, supporting incident reporting and fleet reviews.

Other technologies on show

OmniWeigh dynamically weighs individual bins and waste streams during collection. Each bin is weighed 80 times in 0.5 seconds. The system can reject overweight bins and monitor cumulative vehicle weight to help prevent overloading.

Terberg Matec UK is also showcasing the new ORUS 11HD compact satellite refuse collection vehicle. The model features an 11 m³ watertight body and a payload of up to 7,800 kg, with applications including commercial food waste and glass collection.

RWM Expo 2026 is being held on 16–17 September at NEC Birmingham, where Dennis Eagle and Terberg Matec UK are presenting technologies for waste collection, fleet management and operational efficiency.
