🔋 Enva Launches Certified Battery Safe Box for Lithium Waste Storage and Transport

Enva, a leading UK and Ireland recycling and resource recovery specialist, has unveiled its Battery Safe Box — a certified, purpose-built solution designed to safely store and transport waste lithium batteries, including defective units. Capable of storing up to 400kg and 20kWh of lithium batteries, the new box is engineered to contain fires from thermal runaway and prevent flame spread during transit and storage. It has received VCA approval and complies with UN Dangerous Goods Packing Instruction P911, following rigorous fire containment and drop testing.

👉 Key innovations include:

- Fire-resistant steel construction with Class 1 insulation - Gas Lift Lid for effortless access - Toggle clips for secure locking - Front-loading design to minimise manual handling - Forklift/pallet truck access on all sides - Stackable up to three units for efficient storage

“With lithium battery fires rising by 46% last year, the Battery Safe Box provides an urgently needed, accredited solution,” said Diane Rainsford, Head of Batteries at Enva.

One of the first adopters, Parks Auto Group, praised the product for its role in improving compliance and risk management across multiple sites. Managing Director Mike Sneath added:

“This is a reflection of Enva’s long-term commitment to safety, compliance, and sustainable battery waste solutions.”

As demand for safe lithium battery management grows, Enva’s latest innovation sets a new industry standard in hazardous material handling.
